A STUDY ON THE TOURISM INDUSTRY OPTIMIZATION AND INNOVATION AT GREAT MEN'S HOMETOWN-“RED TRIANGLE” IN HUNAN PROVINCE |

Abstract Shaoshan, Huaminglou and Wushi, which are branded as the "Red Triangle", are respectively the hometowns of the Chinese great men Mao Ze-dong, Liu Shao-qi and Peng De-huai in Hunan province. This paper analyzes the current development of tourism industry in the "Red Triangle" district. They point out the problems which are low developing level of tourism industry, simplex tourism product, unsuitable tourism management system, and unbalanced tourism development. Furthermore, they authors put forward suggestions for the tourism industry optimization which are to optimize the space layout of tourism development, build the system of red tourism products, cultivate the national No. 1 red tourism brand, plan the key projects of red tourism, construct the tourism industry group, strengthen tourism regional link, and innovate the tourism management so as to promote tourism sustainable development for the "Red Triangle". According to the development concept of regional competition and cooperation, this paper studies the "Red Triangle" tourism industry for the Great Men by the combination of literature analysis, empirical research and synthetic analysis and comparison of the region. The authors insist that the development of regional tourism industry should take the construction of red tourism product system as the breakthrough, the cultivation of red tourism brand as the core, the construction of red tourism industry group as the measure, the regional tourism linkage as the foundation, the innovation of red tourism management system as the guarantee. The new points of the research are tourism spatial structural improvement, red tourism program innovation and promotion of the regional red tourism development.
